Pop Art Comic

Pop art was a popular style of art found in comic books in the 1950s and 60s. The style uses bold black lines to outline features, and a technique called Ben-Day dots for colors and shading.

So for my first post, I decided to recreate comic book pop art! (No particular character in mind)

Products used:
Face

  • L'Oreal Lineur Intense brush tip liquid liner in carbon black
  • Snazaroo face paint in red
Eyes

  • Urban Decay primer potion
  • L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in "burst into bloom"
  • L'Oreal Lineur Intense brush tip liquid liner in carbon black
  • Andrea Strip Lashes 15 black
Lips
  • L'Oreal Lineur Intense brush tip liquid liner in carbon black
  • L'Oreal Infallible Lipcolor Compact in crimson
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in milk

Overall this look took about an hour and it was a lot of fun to create!

Welcome!

Hello readers,

Thank you for your interest in my blog! I will be bringing you my own makeup inspired looks and recreations from your favorite comic book characters (and the occasional pop culture character).  I've always had a passion for comic books and makeup, so I figured why not find a way to bring the two together in my own blog!  Some looks might be spot on what the character looks like on paper or film, and some might be looks I've created from color scheme or theme inspiration.  The creative palette is quite expansive.  I will always list the products that I use.  If you have requests, questions, or comments, feel free to contact me by email or leave a comment beneath the post.

xoxo Sam
