Rorschach, also known as his alter ego Walter Kovacs, is a main character from DC Comic's Watchmen series. He wears a mask made of fabric that resembles changing images of Rorschach inkblot tests. He took up crimefighting while working in an undergarment factory.
This was a look I became inspired to recreate after flipping through one of the books. It's another simple, fun look to do, as it only requires using two colors, and the imagination of the "inkblots" can really be personalized to your preference.
Products Used:
- Spirit White Cream Makeup (Side Note: I would not recommend this product. I bought it at a Spirit Halloween store when everything was marked down super cheap. Unfortunately, the effect and quality are also cheap but you get what you pay for. I would just like to inform my readers that this product was very dry after applying, resulting in an uneven finish, and numerous amounts of cracks. Not ideal at all for this look).
- NYX Retractable Eyeliner in Black
- NYX Super Fat Eye Marker in Carbon Black (I used this when I rat out of the retractable liner)
- Urban Decay Shadow in Blackout (Applied over the black eye makeup to help set)
- NYX Setting Spray in Matte Finish
Honestly, the hat is a key component to Rorschach's look. I'm wearing an old hat that once belonged to my grandfather. If you don't have a hat like this lying around, I highly recommend finding one to complete this look.
Overall this was another quick look that only took about 15-20 minutes to complete. It's fun to create your own inkblots, but to make this look appear as it does in the comic, you must keep your eyes closed. So at times, when you must have your eyes open, be warned, the illusion is somewhat broken. Nevertheless, it is a look, and a character, to enjoy.
